In February of 2011 I was approached to start up the Nissan of Vacaville Commercial Sales Department. Having experience with Chevrolet Commercial Vehicles in the I balked at the idea, knowing good and well Nissan did not have a solid Commercial Vehicle presence in the United States. After seeing the product I knew that Nissan Commercial Vehicles had hit the nail on the head with the new Nissan NV Cargo Van Lineup and had to be a part of it.
Looking back a year and a half later I cannot believe how far we have come. I honestly believe Nissan is producing the best cargo van on the market and I have the honor of being one of the guys selling them. In just a year and a half we have captured close to a 10% market share and Nissan of Vacaville is constantly in the Top 2 NV Dealers in the Western Region. How are we doing so well? Why are Chevrolet and Ford Cargo Van owners switching to the Nissan NV? The answer is simple - we listened.
For anyone who has spent time behind the wheel of a cargo van they well know that comfort, convenience and technology have not been as prevalent in the cargo van segment as it has been in most passenger vehicles. Nissan surveyed cargo van owners asking them what they liked, and most importantly, what they didn't, about their current cargo vans. Nissan asked, they listened and then created the most innovative cargo van on the market.
I could go on for pages about comparisons, horsepower, frames, features and benefits but who has the time? I have found the NV has broken open the floodgates to Chevrolet and Ford Cargo Van owners on a few basic levels.
Comfort & Convenience
From first glance it's obvious that the NV is unique. The High Roof offers a 6'4" maximum cargo height - plenty of room for the average worker to stand up in the back of the van. The front of the van sports a large hood with a forward mounted engine. Unlike our competitors our engine is in front of our van, eliminating the "doghouse effect". This has increased legroom and foot room while providing a higher level of safety in a collision. I am 6'6" tall and find the driver's seat comfortable and roomy.
The NV offers a Navigation System, Backup Camera, Blue tooth, XM Radio, 400 Watt inverter with two 110V outlets as well as enough storage in the center console for a full sized laptop. This mobile office has been a hit with our current owners.
Power & Functionality
The NV offers two engines - a 261 horsepower V6 and a beastly 317 Horsepower V8. When teamed up with our fully-boxed frame (the other guys use C-Channels) the NV is more of a truck with a van body than an actual cargo van. The available Factory Tow Package on the V8 provides a 9,500 pound towing capacity (2,000 pounds more than some 2 of our 3 competitors).
Customer Incentive Package
In my opinion this is by far one of the most appealing attributes to the NV. Nissan has teemed up with Adrian Steel to provide you with several FREE Customer Incentive Packages including shelving, ladder racks, partitions and vehicle graphics. The kicker is this - we actually install them for you! No "Credits" to use and then have to deal with it on your own - I personally oversee every installation with a typical completion time of 5-7 business days. Our competitors will offer you a credit or rebate and send you out into the world to figure it out for yourself.
In closing, if you live within 250 miles of Sacramento and are interested in a Nissan NV Cargo Van, you owe it to yourself to contact me directly. I can assist you in picking out the correct van, upfits and financing options that best suit your needs without the back-and-forth of the typical "Retail" dealership.
